Cut-to-Size: Panels Arrive Ready to Install

Plastock's precision cut-to-size service delivers accurate acoustic panels ready for installation, reducing on-site cutting and material waste.

Plastock offers precision cut-to-size conversion of Acoustock panels via digital cutting table — the same Zünd and Kongsberg technology used across large-format signage and architectural interiors.

Supply a CAD file (DXF or PDF) and Plastock handles the conversion. Panels arrive on site cut to your dimensions, ready to fix. Complex shapes, curves, perforations and bespoke profiles are all achievable. Cut-to-size orders are typically completed within two weeks of final design sign-off — often less.

For contractors, this removes a fabrication step from site. It reduces waste, reduces programme risk, and means less skilled cutting time on the job.

On-Site Cutting — What You Need to Know

If you’re cutting on site, Acoustock cuts cleanly with a sharp utility knife and straight edge, a circular saw with a fine-tooth blade, or a jigsaw. Dust generation is low. The material does not splinter or shatter. Cut edges are clean and do not require finishing.

One thing to note: PET felt has a fibre direction. Keep consistent panel orientation across an installation — rotating panels relative to each other can produce a visible difference in how light catches the surface.

Fire Rating for Commercial Specification

Acoustock 9mm is rated B-s1,d0 to EN 13501-1:2018. Its s1 smoke classification — the lowest smoke production class — means it meets the requirements of most commercial fit-out specifications including offices, hospitality, retail and education.

Weight and Fixing

Acoustock panels can be installed using adhesive, mechanical fixings, framed systems or suspended ceiling hardware depending on the application

At 1.9 kg/m² surface density, Acoustock 9mm panels are straightforward to handle and install. For wall applications, contact adhesive is the most common method. For ceiling baffles and suspended rafts, standard wire suspension hardware is sufficient — no specialist structural fixing required.

For contractors working on higher-spec acoustic environments — education, healthcare, recording — Acoustock’s 12mm and 19mm formats are in development. Larger 10’4” panels in selected colours are also coming, reducing joint frequency on long wall runs.
