Polyetheretherketone (also Polyether Ether Ketone) or PEEK for short, is a high-performance engineering thermoplastic that offers excellent resistance to heat and chemicals. It is also incredibly durable, making it the perfect material for use in applications where reliability, wear-resistance and longevity are key. In fact PEEK is so tough that it can even be used in place of metal.

With an excellent balance of physical properties, it has one of the highest levels of heat resistance and mechanical strength available of all the engineering plastics. It is also one of the best choices when looking for good chemical resistance (commonly used in chemical industries) as well as radiation resistance. PEEK polymers offer excellent thermal and mechanical properties, making them high-performance engineering materials perfect for demanding applications. PEEK exhibits excellent resistance to various organic solvents, oils, weak acids and alkalis, and can maintain strength over a wide temperature range and concentration. It has proven to be a polymer that is difficult to discolour, expand or break. It is highly resistant to thermal degradation, as well as to attack by both organic and aqueous environments.
